At last, as suggested by one of my musical collaborators, Matt Hill of Quiet Loner, I have set up a Myspace page to promote myself as a lyricist.
Over the last few years, I have been working with both Matt and Alex Lowe (ex-Hurricane#1), writing and recording songs that we have written. If you go to www.myspace.com/seanhannamlyricist, you can listen to some of the tracks I’ve written the lyrics to.
The latest, Sparks Are Flying, was penned by myself and Matt – it’s a sweet little tale of lust, betrayal and cigarettes. I think it’s like REM doing Love, with a garage rock feel, but someone said it sounds like Dire Straits, which upset me, to be honest. Oh, well – if we’re half as successful as Knopfler and co, I’ll be happy – but I won’t wear a headband.
The other songs are by Garage Flowers – mine and Alex’s garage rock/retro project. We’re planning to record some more tunes we’ve written, but in the meantime, I’ve uploaded a few oddities – the first things we wrote together.
You can hear some of Alex’s Garage Flowers stuff @ www.myspace.com/thegarageflowers and his own solo material at www.myspace.com/alexlowemusic
Drop me a line if you’re interested in working with me. I have added some blogs and lyrics to my own Myspace site, too.

I know – it was someone in music PR! Oh, well. Dire Straits made a few bob….
